HBR tips on working from home
The Harvard Business Review recently released this video with some practical tips on how to work productively while working from home.
1. Give yourself a dedicated workspace
A dedicated place that’s away from distraction. It’s extra helpful if you can shut the door.
2. Make a schedule and stick to it
Pretend you’re not working from home. Get up as you normally do, pour a coffee and sit down with the computer.
3. Set boundaries
What’s acceptable for an on-site office? Make sure the same applies at home.
The people or animals in your life are going to think you’re just taking the day off.
4. Quit at clock off time
It’s easy to work overtime when you’re working from home so make sure you quit at quitting time, even if you’re in the middle of a project.
5. Celebrate the wins
Daily reminders of what you’ve achieved are really motivating.
